What kind of healthy lifestyle changes are you talking about? I get the connection between what I eat and my weight. I know it's not smart to smoke. Isn't that enough? If you've ever had the thought, "I'm really not interested in changing my lifestyle — I just want to get well," then this question is for you. The simplest way I know to explain it is this: If something bugs you, it's creating stress in your life. Stress affects your health. It may sound easier to medicate your way around the symptoms than to heal the situation, but please understand that that approach will never resolve the underlying problem. It is absolutely true that if you're frustrated, dissatisfied, or resigned about your life, that impacts your state of health. They're doing it right now, even as you read this page. Regardless of what your concern is, if it bothers you; if you expend your precious life-force energy stewing over it; then your health will pay the price. Perhaps you think you've come to terms with the situation. You've accepted that your life is what it is and there's nothing to be done to change it. You've tried to convince yourself that you're satisfied. Here's where you get to be the judge. If you really are fulfilled and happy, then everything's fine. You're probably pretty healthy already. On the other hand, if you have to repeatedly convince yourself that you "should" be fulfilled and happy when you really aren't, your inner self is trying to send you an important message about changes that need to be made in order for things to go well in your life.
