Stress-Busting Lesson #4
Got the insight? Now map it out.
Sometimes there's a different concern behind all that stress. You can see exactly where you want to go. Just can't figure out how to get there.
If only it were as simple as calling Triple A!
Well, here's more good news. It almost is. You can become your own Triple A with the help of a good plan.
"What you need is a plan...
"...Once you get the steps down on paper, your situation no longer looks hopeless. In fact, you can see that by taking a succession of incremental steps, you're virtually guaranteed to get exactly where you want to go. The formerly hopeless becomes possible in your mind."

Most people are used to skinning by life on their shirt tales. Who needs a shopping list when the store's two blocks away?
So when something a little more challenging comes up...
When we don't know all the steps from here to there...
When there's no expert guide service waiting for our request for the route map...
We may be tempted to think the journey is impossible.
Tip: If you can see (or visualize) your desired destination, you can figure out how to get there. Especially if — when you look over the hilltops — there's someone else already over there. Those "friends to be" are your inspiration and proof that your goal is reachable. |
If even one other person has reached the goal you strive for, then your question should not be "if" you can achieve it, but "how." Even if your quest is completely unique, think of all the explorers who took on unique quests: Christopher Columbus, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Ghandi. Oprah Winfrey. Draw your inspiration from them.
Answering the question "how" calls for a plan. There's a special kind of magic in putting your plan down on paper. As you begin to seriously think it through, you raise additional questions. Then you answer them. And before you know it, the way becomes clear.
Stress-Busting Lesson #4: If you can see your goal, you can figure out how to reach it. It may be tempting to settle for "I don't know how." Don't. You're smart enough to figure it out. Seek expert advice as you need it. That's part of the fun. Write down your plan on paper and watch your dream come alive before your eyes!
